The information provided above was collected by me during my three visits to Ooty. I have stayed in Hotel Sinclair, Ratan Tata Guest house and Hotel Nahar.

I got a very good deal from MakeMyTrip for Sinclairs where I was given 3N/4D with Breakfast, Dinner and Tea for 10K. It was during the peak season of Summer holidays. The food is really good at Sinclairs. I suggest you to go for dinner there once even if you are not staying there. Another thing that I really liked about the hotel was the view from its garden. The rooms and the facilities inside the room really disappointed me. The shower was not working and the taps were broken and the room was damp. ( and that I later found out was the case with most of the hotels in Ooty). So I suggest that you should try directly to contact the Hotel and also contact travel agents such as makemytrip. Ask for good deals and you might land up with a DEAL. Also I suggest read up reviews in TripAdvisor before making booking.

If you are in the market and feel like eating, there are a lot of shops selling south indian food. If you want something more than that it would be a difficult to search one. We found 2 very good eateries - Punjabi Dhaba and Nahar Restaurant. Punjabi Dhaba is around 100m from the Charring cross and Nahar is at the Charring Cross. During summer time, Hint- Bangalore had set up its disc and it was a good place to have a beer and snacks.

One has to book Ratan Tata Guest house much in advance. The room rent is very low and rooms are also not great. But it has got a very good location. It is near the lake and main bus stand. The caretaker is a very nice old guy.

The concept of home stay and plantation stay has not yet picked up very much in Ooty but there are some quality home stay/plantation stay in Ooty. Few of them are Sangeetha - Fern Hill, The Tryst - Coonoor and Glendale Estate - Coonoor.

Since you are 26 in number it is important for you guys hire a mini-bus. Don't hire a big bus as those buses are not allowed on the shorter and more scenic route. I would advise better to get in touch with some homestay person who will be able to arrange stay for you guys. Other thing that you can do is try your luck at the youth hostel. I haven't been there but I have heard it is okay not very good but quite economical. You should be able to go around Ooty in 2-3 days. I am not sure if you are planning to visit the tourist places. Since yours is a big group I dont think you would be planning to go to all the places. ;-)
Do go to Connoor, maybe for a day.

For many years now India has been a very popular tourist destination, owing to the gamut of exhilarating variety and uniqueness that it offers in its expanse. In order to reap the benefits of this interest and willingness of people to tour India, it is of utmost interest that the travel and tourism industry is strengthened and accurately incised. Especially, in the cities of the developing countries like India, the revenue coming in from the travel and tourism sector that be properly tapped and appropriately utilized by grooming and employing skilled and experienced professionals in the travel and tourism industry. In the Indian cities like Bangalore the big names from the hospitality circuit have properties and are keen on opening more properties. Most of the major players of the hospitality industry have hotels in Bangalore. The rise in the number of the Bangalore hotels requires more and more trained and able professionals from the hospitality sector. As Bangalore is booming as a promising financial hub, the number of foreign business travelers and business delegates has also increased. Under such conditions it is not just enough to open world class budget hotels in Bangalore but also to have a staff that matches the international standards of hospitality. To achieve this goal it is of utmost importance that India fuels up the momentum in setting up of travel and tourism institutions that are at par with the international standards.
